EVOLVING FUTURE PRINCIPLES
CARD GAME
This card game is designed for teams as a continued follow up activity to the
Alter-Learning Manifesto.
By playing the game:
-
Individuals have the opportunity to dive deeper into the manifesto’s future principles and their relation to the real world;
-
Teams can share between each other their specific experiences with embracing future principles and discuss improvement areas for the future;
-
The whole community benefits through developing and sharing the 9th future principle.
HOW TO PLAY?

STEP 1
Rank the future principles from the Alter-Learning Manifesto from the most to the least embraced by you in your day-to-day life and work.
STEP 2
Now, think about a recent project/initiative/activity implemented by your team.
-
Which of the future principles were embraced by the team? Move the already embraced future principles to your left.
-
Which ones would you like to embrace next time you collaborate? Move the future principles you would like to embrace in the future to your right.

STEP 3
We are halfway there. Time for group work. Take turns sharing your thoughts, ideas and experiences. We are providing you with guidelines for the discussion:
-
Share your logic for the ranking exercise in the first step. Why did you choose this ranking?
-
Share one experience about a future principle your team embraced before. Why do you think it is important?
-
Since some of the team members have probably identified future principles they would like to embrace next time you collaborate, try to define patterns and come up with action items for the next endeavor of yours.
STEP 4
Upon the discussion and reflection, as a team, come up with the 9th future principle for the Alter-Learning Manifesto. Don’t overthink it. What was the red thread in your discussion?
By completing this step, you officially check-out from the game and sign the manifesto. Don’t forget to share your experience and the 9th principle with the community in the comment section below.
Did you find any interesting discussion patterns while playing with your team? Would you like to share parts of the discussion or anything else with the HvA2030 community?
Tell us about your experience playing the game in the comment section below.
